Heavy Metal Testing Is:

The analysis of the levels of toxic metals in the hair and the urine after the administration of a metal provoking agent. This is an objective way to test accumulation of toxic metals in the body. Chronic exposure to toxic metals results in retention in the body which can lead to a vast array of negative health effects and chronic disease. Retention is determined by the difference between the rates of absorption of metals and the rates of excretion of metals. Toxicity occurs when retention exceeds physiological tolerance.

Q: What are heavy metals? How do they enter the body?

A: It is normal and necessary to have heavy metals in our body however when there is an excess, it becomes poisonous and can even become lethal if not treated. Some examples of heavy metals we can find in the body include:

- lead, mercury, aluminum, chromium, nickel, cadmium.

HOW THEY ENTER THE BODY:

A: We live in a very complex world with a lot of toxins in our air, our food, our water and even in our homes.  We have fires, airliners flying overhead and exhaust fumes from cars that contribute to the pollution in our environment.

We absorb metals not only through what we eat, drink and breathe, but we also absorb metals through our skin, which is the largest organ on the body.

Examples

  • Lead comes from plumbing pipes

  • Children’s toys

  • Fires

  • Construction materials

  • Shooting ranges

  • Mercury is in seafood, dental fillings, lightbulbs and vaccines.

  • Chromium is in the water, just like we saw in the true life story of Erin Brokovich.

  • Aluminum is in the air, our water, anti-perspirants, lotions, airliner exhaust.

  • Arsenic is in herbicides, pesticides, and some protein powders.

Q: What happens if metals stay in the body?

A: This depends on the degree of exposure. High levels are lethal and a visit to the ER may be necessary. Milder exposures can make you very sick. Heavy metal poisoning damages your brain, your liver, your kidneys and other vital organs, causing a wide range of adverse symptoms.

MILD Exposure can cause: gut pain, dehydration, diarrhea, weakness, numbness & tingling in hands and feet. HIGH Exposure can cause:

  • Heart arrhythmias, Respiratory problems, damage and miscarriages in expectant moms.

  • Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson’s, Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus and in cases, death.

Q: How do you test for heavy metals?

We test for 40 different metals

A: This testing is a one step process: A urine test.

These types of test are not provided in the conventional medical system. Doing both tests give an overall picture of the body’s excretion ability as well as the ability to improve excretion rates.

The urine test is checking for two things:

1. The “acute” daily excretion rate by what the body is excreting within that 6 hour period (vs the slow 6 months period via hair).

2. The purge rate (quickly) using the DMSA supplementation (a provoking agent).

Q: What do you do if you find metals in your body/how to remove them?

A: A treatment protocol will be recommended to remove the metals from your body which requires a provoking agent nutraceutical to pull them out of the cells and tissues and drive them to the liver and kidneys for elimination.

A: We remove toxic metals through your urine with a provoking agent that binds to metals. We have researched and tested our DMSA provoking agent over years and have helped hundreds of patients eliminate metals safely.

Q: How soon after treatment will I feel better?

A: This depends on the amount of metal in your body. You could see symptoms improve in a few hours or it can take weeks.

Q: What if I am a Recreate Partner or Alumni?

Recreate Partner

A: We will have a lab review to determine what adjustments may need to be made to your program to begin the elimination process.

Alumni

A: We will have a lab review to determine what phase of Recreate you may need to repeat along with adjustments based on your results to begin the elimination process.

Cancer Marker Testing Is:

A blood test that will detect marked proteins which determine 85-95% of all cancers in the body 5-7 years before the disease can develop.

Q: What is a cancer marker?

A: Cancer markers are specific proteins that are detectable in a test, which can show 85 -95% of all cancers 5 to 7 years before cancer develops. This is good news and allows us to help facilitate reducing the markers naturally. Most cancer or tumor markers are proteins made by both normal cells and cancer cells, but they are made in higher amounts by cancer cells. Cancer markers are used to screen for cancer but cannot diagnose cancer. BUT it always, always does mean there is a disease pathology and that it is more likely cancer exists. However, our healthcare system requires a biopsy or imaging to diagnose cancer.

Q: Why do I want to test?

A: Cancer cells are being made in the body every day, in everybody- up to a thousand possibilities of cancer exist, but the immune system constantly works to down regulate the gene expression.  However if the immune system is compromised, the risk for disease progressing increases.  Testing can show something suspicious, so we can take proactive measures, many years in advance, to get the body healthy enough to identify it, fight it, and stop the disease process from growing.

Q: What if I am already diagnosed with cancer, should I test?

A: Yes, it's important that we baseline the condition so we can move forward with natural, functional medicine based remedies to get the body in a state where it can fight the cancer naturally as it was designed to do.

Q: I’m in the middle of chemo and/or radiation, should I test?

A: No. It is recommended to test after chemo or radiation in order to determine if the cancer has spread anywhere else, and to find if any cancer remains after radiation and chemotherapy.

Q: I finished chemo and/or radiation, should I test?

A: This is an ideal time to test.  Its important we baseline the condition so we can move forward with natural, functional medicine based remedies to get the body in a state where it can fight the cancer naturally as it was designed to do.

Q: How do you test for cancer markers?

A: A blood test

Q: What happens if I find cancer markers, what’s next?

A: Likely a heavy metal test will be ordered, followed by a lab review to discuss protocol of diet and supplementation.

Q: What if I am in the Recreate Program/Completed Recreate Program, what happens next if results show cancer markers?

In Program

A: Likely a heavy metal test will be ordered, followed by a lab review and a change in protocol to add in  supplementation and phase adjustments.

Recreate Alumni

A: Likely a heavy metal test will be ordered, followed by a lab review to determine new supplementation and and re-entry point in the Recreate Program.

Q: Do you cure cancer?  Do you cure disease?

A: At Wellness Method we focus on prevention, we don’t cure cancer or any disease. No one cures cancer except the body. Cancer cells are being made in the body every day, in everybody- up to a thousand possibilities of cancer exist, but the immune system shuts them down unless it is compromised.  Testing can show something suspicious, so we can take proactive measures, many years in advance to get the body healthy enough to identify it, fight it, and stop the disease process from growing.

Q: Can I begin your Recreate Program if I have cancer?

A: Testing is always the first step. The test results will determine the next step.
