Recreate 365 Program FAQs
Q: What is Functional Medicine?
It is defined as an approach to get the body functioning the way it was designed without the dependence of drugs and surgery.
Q: Who is Dr. Brad Kobsar? Speaker, Author, Scientist, and Teacher.
In 1995, Dr. Kobsar received government funding for the Wellness Method which he directed, at the Santa Clara County Hospital. For years he painfully witnessed the conventional medical system create drug dependence, which fueled his desire to empower people to break free from their health struggles. After five years he left the Hospital system and went into private practice where he crafted the RECREATE 365 program to free people from the cycle of sickness and disease. He is double board certified as a Doctor of Chiropractic, Functional Medicine, and a Diplomat of The American Board of Clinical Nutrition. He is also a published researcher, teacher and author of 5 top selling books on health and wellness.
Q: How is this different than going to a Nutritionist or Naturopath?
While both of these differ greatly based on the provider, they typically don’t have a system to follow like RECREATE 365. So they tend to try a lot of things with no overall strategy:
- A Naturopath primarily focuses on diet and A LOT of supplements to treat symptoms without resolving the underlying cause of problems. A nutritionist is focused on only one aspect of RECREATE which is nutrition. So, there are many missing pieces of overall health that are not addressed.
Q: Who is the Recreate Program for?
A: This program is for any individual who wishes to feel optimal and well. If you are on medications, struggle with multiple conditions like auto-immune disease, toxic liver, hormone imbalances, metabolic dysfunction and more… this program is for you. If you are an athlete that wants to lower cellular inflammation and optimize, this program is for you.If you are a busy mom, struggling to drop the baby weight and feeling exhausted and sluggish, this program is for you. If you are in menopause and feeling the effects of decreased hormone levels and want a natural solution - this program is for you.
Q: What type of testing do you do?
A: Foundational Blood Labs: To look at the health of your organs; heart, gut, liver, brain, etc … to see what is sick and inflamed. We also look at cholesterol, hormones, blood sugar, vitamins and minerals, a complete panel of red blood cells and white blood cells.
Heavy Metal Testing: To look for toxic levels of lead, mercury, aluminum, etc.
Genetic Testing: We all have genetic risks so we need to understand your unique body functions so we can overcome any challenges in your DNA and maximize body functions.
Food sensitivity testing: You are unique and what works for your body is as individual as you are.
Q: What makes your approach different?
A: Our approach is designed so that YOU learn about YOU, and what works for your body.Your plan becomes increasingly customized as you learn how your body responds to each phase of your journey. We begin by working on your conditions, and as those resolve, YOU then begin learning about your nutritional, cellular and lifestyle needs for your unique body.
Step 1 is to meet with our Doctor for your Consultation where he will listen to your struggles and your goals, and then determine which plan will get you the results you desire. Once you join your RECREATE Program, your testing will begin. Your program is designed in phases depending on your conditions and your goals. Once each phase is complete, you move on to the next, all while being guided by our health coaches and clinicians.
Q: Does insurance cover your services?
Health insurance is not designed to cover proactive wellness care. Health insurance is designed for 15 minute office visits that result in prescription medications or surgical procedures. All of our clients are happy to invest their own money into themselves for a better life. We have financing options, payment plans and we take HSA or FSA to pay for our programs.
Q: Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for my program?
Yes.
An FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and an HSA (Health Savings Account) are tax-advantaged accounts for medical expenses but differ in key aspects. FSAs, employer-sponsored, allow employees to use pre-tax dollars for medical expenses like our programs, as well as conventional medical prescriptions and copays, but typically feature a "use-it-or-lose-it" policy where funds must be used within the plan year. HSAs are available to those with a high-deductible health plan and offer more flexibility, allowing funds to roll over annually.
Q: Do you cure disease?
There is only one thing that cures disease and that is YOUR body. Your body was designed to heal. Our job is to uncover what is interfering with the healing and what it lacking. Once we guide you in removing what is interfering and giving your body what is lacking, then it has room to heal itself.
Q: Do I have to give up alcohol to go through your program?
The road to restoring your health is narrow. Usually sickness and imbalance is a result of a wide and variety road of unhealthy habits. Once we help you ‘clean your house’, the road become less narrow based on your genetic testing results and what you learn works and doesn’t work for your body.
Q: Do you prescribe medication?
No. If you are on medication, the doctor who put you on that medication will be the one to take you off. Our job is to get you healthy enough so that your body doesn't need medication.
Q: Can I get off my medications?
Yes if that is your desire, but only after you are healthy enough to not need them anymore and only the doctor who prescribed them will take you off of them.
Q: Isn’t Functional Medicine expensive … How much does your program cost?
Every program is different and it depends on how much work is needed to restore your health.Functional Medicine is not expensive. It costs less to do a Functional Medicine program than it does to pay your health insurance for the year.
Q: Do I have to live near the clinic to be helped?
No. We are a virtual practice and we help people across the country and even outside of North America.
Q: How do I get started?
We always begin with a Consultation with our Doctor to see if we are a good fit to work together.
